This intentional living community will be a place of healing, comfort, and growth. It will feature safe and secure housing units, gathering areas, gardens, permaculture areas, a park, and a playground. 

The units will vary in size to meet the needs of the residents, ranging from studios in multiplex buildings to two-bedroom dwelling units. We plan on adding larger units in future phases of development.

Our Phase 1 fourplex was completed in August 2023 and as residents moved in, it put an end to a combined 50 years of homelessness.  The property next door is being prepared for Phase 2 (Creekside North) which will contain a 12-unit multi-family complex with a common room, laundry room, community garden, and a small orchard.  We hope to break ground in the spring/summer of 2024.

Plans for Phase 3 include another 12-unit multi-family complex (Creekside South) and a mixed structure with transitional housing and studio apartments (Creekside Center).  Creekside Center will also contain a gathering room for events and socializing, an office, and a meeting/classroom where Life Skills & Employment Readiness classes will be offered, and support group meetings will be held.

The property is located next to Whiskey Creek in Brainerd, a town in central Minnesota, and close to the Mississippi River.  It is at the edge of town, surrounded by wildlife yet within walking distance to stores and services.   

Where are we at in the process?

• Phase 1 fourplex is completed and our first residents moved in on Sept. 1, 2023.  
• The land has been cleared and the site is ready to be prepared for both Phases 2 & 3.
• Supportive Friendship classes and our Life Skills and Employment Readiness Courses are being developed with an expected completion date in June 2024.
